About Us

Hero Assistance Dogs, Inc., Heroes, is a statewide, all volunteer, non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization. We are centrally located in Floral City, Citrus County, Florida, serving the State of Florida. We believe in commitment to each individual and each working team, and are driven by the opportunity to develop functional and successful relationships that change lives. We are very excited about being active partners with our communities and working with people of all ages in those communities.

Heroes is focused on raising and training assistance dogs to help people with mobility difficulties. We have a strong commitment to our U.S. disabled veterans, children with autism, at-risk teens and children’s literacy, and feel that it is important to help those in your community and strive to be an active member of our communities.

Founded by Diane White, partnered with her service dog “Figment”, she understands first hand the role an assistance dog plays in a disabled persons life and the positive changes that take place when partnered with a dog. Heroes was founded on a strong passion for what an assistance dog can do for a person, and the desire to help disabled people gain independence through these wonderful animals. A passion to help children in need and to become a productive part of society is equally important to us. That passion continues to grow as Heroes grows.

Heroes strives to develop strong, independent Assistance Dog partnerships while touching lives to make a difference through the volunteers, the dogs and the disabled partners.
