Hero Assistance Dogs, Inc.

About Us

Hero Assistance Dogs, Inc., Heroes, is a statewide, all volunteer, non-profit organization. We are developing a training center / main office in Floral City, Citrus County, Florida, and a training center in Jacksonville, Florida. We are a new organization, focused on training assistance dogs to help people with mobility disabilities, independence and a better quality of life. Heroes is very excited about collaborating and having an active role within our communities.

Founded by Diane White, partnered with her service dog “Figment”, she understands first hand the role an assistance dog plays in a disabled persons life and the positive changes that take place when partnered with a dog. “Figment” and Diane were partnered through another service dog organization, of which Diane is indebted to. It is through the guidance and friendship of the director of that organization that Diane learned about the Assistance Dog world.

Diane gives credit to Susan Bolton, of Jacksonville, who spent many hours on the telephone and computer coordinating the beginning of this organization. Both Diane and Susan share a strong passion for Assistance Dogs and the desire to help disabled people gain independence through these wonderful animals. Each has a strong desire to develop a transparent public charity that is a productive part of society. Susan Bolton was the puppy raiser for Diane’s service dog, “Figment”. It is through Susan’s training knowledge, dedication and selfless heart that Figment has been, and continues to be, the dedicated, well-trained service dog partner he is, meeting Diane’s needs beyond expectations. It is this kind of relationship, which Heroes strives to develop with other Assistance Dog partnerships, touching lives to make a difference through the volunteers, the dogs and the disabled partner.

Please join us in our exciting journey!
