At HEROES, our mission does not stop when the holidays arrive. We work year around in order to make a difference in another person's life.

If you would like to help by being a part of this special year around gift please contact us. We are looking for:

Fundraiser Volunteers, Activity Center Volunteers, Office Volunteers, Crafters, and we accept any and all Gift Cards.

There are many different ways to help even if you can not raise a puppy full time. For other volunteer positions or what you can volunteer to HEROES, or what you are willing to donate, please contact us.

As for Puppy Raisers, We are looking for people willing to be puppy raisers. Here are the different ways you can volunteer as a raiser:

Full-time puppy raiser – This would mean that you are responsible for the puppy up to 18 months. This would be working with us to train and providing care for the pup in training. This requires attending weekly or bi-weekly classes.

Co-raiser – This where you and another person have worked out a schedule to share the responsibilities of a full-time raiser. This requires attending weekly or bi-weekly classes.

Emergency raiser – When a pup in training comes back to us without notice. It would be placed in this type of home until we are able to make more permanent arrangements. You must have a fenced yard.

Vacation raiser – You would be the puppy vacation home. When a raiser is going away and chooses not to bring the pup in training. They would make arrangements in advance with a vacation raiser. You must have a fenced yard.

All raisers must go through puppy raiser training prior to getting a puppy. Heroes will provide all materials for training at no cost to you beyond your time.

People commonly say, “I could never give them up.” Yes, that is the hard part of raising. BUT, when you see how much that pup you raised makes such a difference in the persons life and their families life it makes it all worth it. Being a puppy raiser definitely takes a very special person, without them we are not able to place any dogs. If you see a puppy raiser out in public working their pup, for us or any other school, please take a minute and thank them for what they are doing. Please realize you are looking at a person that is giving all their heart and more, to make a difference in someone’s life. A person they have not even met yet. We give thanks for our Puppy raisers!!!
