GREAT NEWS!!
Heroes would like to introduce two puppies in training; Miss"Maya" Angelou and Miss "Dora" the Explorer, sisters, born on February 2, 2008. They were donated by Lavera and Gordon Stephens. These two girls are very intelligent and very quick learners! We wish to give big thanks to the Stephens’ for their wonderful donation of these smart and lovable puppies.
Maya & Dora are growing like weeds and quickly learning tasks that will be needed to become wonderful working assistance dogs of the future. Both have learned the beginning basics of sit, down, wait, stay, shake, and speak. Their next accomplishments will include the positions of heel, side, front and behind and one of the most important commands “COME”. They have learned what busy and big busy mean and to do it on command. (Those are their potty commands) Both will be attending local obedience classes weekly.
If you feel you could take on the raising and training of a puppy, please click on the puppy raiser button on the left of the screen for more information. Our main goal is to produce well trained, sound service dogs for individuals with mobility impairments.
